In Memory of Billy Bauernschmidt

Billy’s Legacy Foundation began in 2007 as a fundraising initiative to bless and empower today’s youth. That summer, generous donations helped renovate and dedicate a space in Billy’s memory--The Summit. Originally created as a training facility for Master’s Commission students preparing for futures in youth mentorship, The Summit quickly became more than just a facility.
Over the years, the foundation expanded its mission awarding scholarships to youth facing adversity and offering hope to those in need of support. Now, Billy’s Legacy continues to grow, embracing new opportunities to help even more young people thrive.

This past semester has been a true milestone for me. Despite coming in with limited theory and aural experience, I worked tirelessly in Music Theory I and Aural Skills I—and earned an A in both. Beyond academics, I stepped into leadership as Social Chair of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, building brotherhood and campus connections. I also grew more active in the Audio Engineering Society and challenged myself in the Pride of the Valley Marching Band, pushing past doubts about my disability and discovering new strengths.
